I also found that year after year doctors and government addiction services were no use whatsoever and basically had zero understanding of what it was like for me. In retrospect I now also know they had zero understanding of how to actually help either! I need more than a 1 to 1 chat with someone. I do feel very alienated with this,i have no one to talk to about it.Unless u have had the same addiction or any addiction i feel its extremely hard to talk about it to anyone. I know i would be judged and looked at differently if i did.I want the old me back,bubbly full of energy and fun and love for everyone.My dad is slowly dying, so i owe this to him as well. I would like to know when and where i can go to a clinic??And i would love to chat to someone who's in has been in my situation. I enjoyed the article and I think that self-esteem is one of the most important but under-appreciated pieces of psychology. A lot of people suffer from it but most people do not realize they possess it nor how to treat it. It is a shame because we have so little time on this planet and we if we don't love ourselves what kind of emotions are we having and even more sadly what kind of existence is that? I actually just wrote an article on self-esteem on my blog. I would love for people to check it out and tell me what they think of it.
